So may we assume that Skype’s appearance on the iPhone and then the BlackBerry would impact the traditional telephone services?

Interesting to note that Skype is now the #2 carrier of long distance minute in the world. Ideas like this are going to help with next year’s announced IPO.
I will be interested to see a few things:
What kind of battery drain this application will present for the iPhone/BB
Will carriers like Telus that have no WiFi on their offered BB devices allow this app on their network.
